Clippings..........June ?, 1942....Picture of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. P.H. Wichers announce the marriage of their daughter, Margaret, to First Sergeant Clement C. Evans, son of Mr. and Mrs. K.C. Evans, of Lawrence, which took place Friday evening (?) in the chapel of the Congregational church in Lawrence.......The bride was born and reared in Russell and graduated from the high school at DeRidder, LA where the family lived several years. She was employed in her father's photographic studio here for 3 years, but the past two has made her home in Topeka where she is employed by the board of education and she expects to continue in that line for the duration of the war. Sergeant Evans has lately been transferred from San Louis Obispo, CA to Ft. Sill, OK where he is attending Officer's Candidate School.

Margaret (Evans) Lawrence, 78, died Friday, Mar. 22, at Hot Springs, AR. She was born May 15, 1917. Her parents were Henry P. and Clara Anna (Killian) Wichers. She married Clements Clark "Boots" Evans on June 15, 1942. Mr. Evans died Sept. 5, 1955. She then married Robert E. Lawrence on Nov. 27, 1985, at Lawrence. She lived most of her life in Russell, where she owned and operated Wichers Photgraphy Studio in Russell. She moved from Lawrence to Hot Springs, AR in the late 1980s. She was a member of the village United Methodist Church at Hot Springs Village, AR.

She is survived by her husband, Robert of the home in Hot Springs; her son, Stephen Evans of K.C., MO; two daughters, Anita Rounkles of Fairview Heights, IL; and Nancy Schaffer of North Little Rock, AR; one step-daughter, Donna Manalle of Slidell, LA; 6 grandchildren and one step-gt. grandchild; three brothers, Robert Wichers of Beloit; Henry Wichers of Phoenix, AZ; and Max Wichers of Europe.

Funeral at Pohlman's Memorial Chapel in Russell, with Rev. Richard Tullis officiating. Burial in the Russell City Cemetery.
