Marilyn Angeline "Dozy" Charette, age 68, of Washburn, WI, formerly of Red Cliff, WI died Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN. She was born April 30, 1943 in Hayward, WI the daughter of John & Evelyn (Roy) Gordon. She was a lifelong area resident and a member of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.

In December of 1967 she married Robert Charette Sr. and together they raised their five children. Living on a small hobby farm in Red Cliff, they also raised pigs, cows and chickens. Marilyn worked at numerous jobs in the Red Cliff Community. One could call her the top sales representative for 25 years running, as she sold everything from Amway, Watkins & Pampered Chef products to toys and candles. She had worked at the former Red Cliff Fine Arts Building making and selling gods eyes and beaded jewelry.

She was introduced to the game of "Bingo" at a young age which became a passion of hers. Marilyn loved her family, pot lucks, family gatherings and taking pictures. She took pride in her crocheting of afghans & making quilts for family and friends. He grandchildren were the apple of her eye and she made time to attend their sporting events, concerts and graduations. Marilyn will be truly missed and will be remembered for her wonderful laughter, smile and kind heart.

Marilyn is survived by three sons, Paul Charette of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Dave (Beth) Charette of Prescott, WI & Robert J. Charette Jr. of Red Cliff, WI; a daughter, Theresa (Ed) Basina of Oshkosh, WI; grandsons, Jason Charette, Jacob Charette, Zachary Charette, Alex Basina, Karl Basina, James Basina & William Charette; granddaughters, Kaycee Charette & Turquoise Charette; great-grandson, Logan Charette; great-granddaughter, Jordyn Charette; brothers, Tom Gordon, Mike "Shob" Gordon, Vincent "Ben" Gordon & Frank (Myrtle) Gordon all of Red Cliff, WI; sisters, Veronica "Babe" Newago, Yvonnie (Joe) LaGrew & Vicky (Harold) Leask all of Red Cliff, WI; adopted sister, Theresa A. (Roland Lemieux) Gordon of Red Cliff, WI; special friends, Lillian "Tiger" Daley of Red Cliff & Betty "Betty Boop" Larson of Washburn, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Charette Sr in 2005; a son, Julian Charette in 2012; a grandson, Paul Charette Jr in 1981; brothers, Melvin & Roland Gordon; sisters, Bernadette Bresette, Irene Gordon & Margaret Montgomery; other relatives & friends.

The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, February 23, 2012 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Red Cliff, WI. Father Aaron Kalmon will officiate. Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Wednesday at the Red Cliff Elderly Center in Red Cliff with a prayer service at 8:00 PM. A family graveside service and inurnment will take place at a later date in St. Francis Cemetery in Red Cliff, WI.
