John Schisler was born near Astoria, IL, Oct 5, 1860. Departed this life Feb 23, 1915, being at the time of his death 54 years, 4 months, 18 days old. He was the son of John and Matilda Schisler. On Jan 4, 1883, he was united in marriage to Minerva Kelly. To this union were born six children. They are: Oscar, of Weleetka, Okla., Mrs. W. W. Dorman of East Wilmington, Cal.; Mrs. T. J. Beam; Harvey, Gladys and Glen, of Astoria, who with their mother are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving father and husband. He is also survived by three brothers and two sister, two brothers having preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Church of the Brethren and lived a consistent Christian life. For several years he had been in poor health but bore his sufferings with Christian fortitude.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 25, at the Church of the Brethren, conducted by Rev. Chas. Walters assisted by Rev. J. J. Johnson. Interment at the South Fulton cemetery.
