He came to Pawnee county in January, 1878, and was married to Abbie M. Ackert in January, 1879. To this union were born three children, one boy and two girls. The surviving members of the family are the wife and one daughter, Mrs. H. M. Reed. He also is survived by his aged father, three brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Getty was one of the pioneer farmers of the county and suffered the hardships of the early years, and also enjoyed the prosperity of later years. Other strokes followed and the past few months he has been a helpless invalid, dependent entirely upon the care of his wife and a trained nurse.
