Doris Paula Edmunds, 64, died Saturday afternoon, December 15, 2001, at her home.
Born September 17, 1937, in Jerseyille, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Virginia Berthoux.
A graduate of Alton Memorial School of Nursing in Alton, she worked at various hospitals in the Alton area, and later worked for Dr. Jean Samann in Houston.
On October 25, 1958, she married Gerald W. "Gerry" Edmunds. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1997.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Paula Jill and Marion T. Moore of Friendsville; two granddaughters, Virginia Lynn Moore and Mary Elizabeth Moore, both of Friendsville; two brothers and sisters-in-law; Duane and Ann Berthoux of Fairfield, California, Dann Berthoux of St. Louis and Kate Berthoux of Springfield; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Phillip Shelton of Yardley, Pennsylvania, and Barbara and Paul Johns of Herald; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, David W. Edmunds, and two brothers, Darel and Dale Berthoux.
Visitation will be from noon Wednesday at Union Ridge Presbyterian Church near New Haven until time of services at 1 p.m. The Rev. Creighton Hampton will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Boy Scouts of America, American Heart Association or a charity of one's choice in care of the Kittinger-Fair Funeral Home, 200 S. Walnut, Carmi, Illinois 62821.
