Jake Harold Jones, age 67, of Loves Park, IL passed away at 6:41 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at his residence.
Born Feb. 25, 1944, in Pocahontas, AR, son of Samuel and Sadie (nee Nipps) Jones. Married Sharon M. Personette on March 21, 1970, in Rockford, IL. Employed by Rockford Heat Treating. Jake loved gardening and doing anything outdoors, but above all he loved his family.
Survivors include wife Sharon; daughters, Becci (Rod) Abney and Cathy (Mark) Colson, all of Davis Junction, IL, Chrissy (Terry) McKillip and Stacy Jones, all of Machesney Park, IL and Jenny (Ivan) Jones of Loves Park, IL; grandchildren, Fawn (Jerry) Teresi, Michael (Vicki), Stephen and Tiffany Colson, Holly (Kyle) Wolfgram, Amber and Jennifer Eccles, Dominique and Tre' Jones; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Norman (Jeanette) and Junior (Mary) Jones, all of Rockford, IL and Eugene (Faye) Jones, Batesville, AR; dear friend, Sissy Clark; and his special pet dog, Pepsi.
Predeceased by parents; and brothers, Manuel and Grandville Jones.
Services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, in Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, in the funeral home.
