Ben Martinez, 85, passed away November 5, 1996 in Sandy, Utah.
Born August 25, 1911 in Rio Chama, New Mexico to Alejandro and Senona Vigil Martinez. He married Rumalda Medina November 4, 1931 in Del Norte, Colorado. Member of the Catholic Church, retired laborer, avid fisherman, hunter, horseman, gardener "the strawberry king".

Survived by wife of Sandy; children, Helen (Gilbert) Valdez, West Valley; Alex (Lila) Martinez of Bullhead City, AZ; Annie (Daniel) Apodaca of Sandy; Casilda (Robert) Bauer of West Valley; Andrea (Joe) Stockfish of Azusa, CA; Mary (Wayne) Tidwell of West Valley; Liz McDowell of Hawaii; Esther (Ed) Clark of So. Jordan; 40 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; nine great great-grandchildren; sister, Helen (Art) Ruiz of Greenfield, CA.

Preceded in death by son, Lloyd Martinez; daughter, Nickie Bauer; and two brothers.

Funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, November 11, 1996, 10 a.m. at Saint Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, 3580 West 3650 south, where friends may call Sunday 5-7 p.m. with Holy Rosary recited at 7 p.m. and Friends may call Monday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Funeral Directors, Redwood Memorial Estates.
