She married (1) James Wilcox Morgan Hurlbut; (2) William Cecil Hudson. Lillian and William had four children.
Lillian finished law school, but worked as a legal secretery rather than taking the bar to practice as an attorney. She was intelligent, naturally athletic, had a good sense of humor and was active in the First Christian Church of Tampa.

According to her youngest son, Lillian's ashes were scattered from the old Tampa Bay Bridge.
