Funeral services for Mrs. Opha T. Shields, 84, will be held at 10:30 Wednesday at the Roland Funeral Home, [Atlantic, Cass County, Iowa], with Pastor Bill Morgan of the Atlantic Gospel Chapel officiating. Interment will be in Newlon's Grove Cemetery east of Lyman, [Noble Township, Cass County, Iowa].

Mrs. Shield, a resident of 211 West 6th, died Monday morning [April 6, 1982], at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The daughter of George and Emma Miller Logue, she was born in Minnesota December 20, 1897, and attended rural school in Edna Township near Cumberland. She spent most of her life in Cass County and the last few years was a resident of Atlantic. She was a member of the Atlantic Gospel Chapel.

Surviving are a son, Warren Shields of Council Bluffs; three daughters, Marian Leonard of Council Bluffs, Maysel Mogensen of Omaha, and Mrs. Bob (Eleanor) Pigsley of Council Bluffs; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Logue; a sister, Effie Scott; two great grandchildren and a son-in-law, Kenneth Mogensen.

A visitation will be held from 7:30-8:30 Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Opha Shields, 84, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Roland Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Morgan of the Atlantic Gospel Chapel officiating. Mrs. Travis Martens was organist and "In Times Like These" and "I Shall Know My Redeemer" were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Mitchell. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Stamp and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Lindeman were in charge of flowers. Casket bearers were Delbert Leonard, Jens Mogensen, Kenneth Walters, Brad Pigsley, John Mogensen and George Barelos. Burial was in Newlon's Grove Cemetery east of Lyman, [Cass County, Iowa].
