REEDSVILLE - Ruth B. Criswell, 82, of 64 King St., Reedsville, went to be with the Lord at 10:55 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at her home.

Born Jan. 24, 1930, in Yeagertown, she was the daughter of the late Seth Edward and Mary (Rodgers) Snook. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Gerald W. Criswell, on Oct. 12, 2007; her brother, Seth Edward Snook II; her sister, Mary S. Smolkovic; and an infant son. Ruth is survived by: her children, Janice E. Mohapp and husband, Les, of McClure, Barbara L. Simonetti and husband, Ronald, of Reedsville, and Gerald W. Criswell II, of Reedsville; foster child, Kathy Jo Baker, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Patrick M. O'Neill and fiancee, Ariel Bohn, Tara A. Kauffman and husband, Kendall, Travis C. Simonetti, Zachary L. Simonetti, Lucas S. Simonetti and wife, Michelle, Gerald Wesley Criswell III and Chase Criswell; and great- grandchildren, Valerie Simonetti and Owen O'Neill.

Ruth was a 1947 graduate of Yeagertown High School. Ruth was a homemaker, a member of the Yeagertown United Methodist Church and a former member of the Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Yeagertown. She was a member of the Sew 'n' Sews Sewing Club and the Yeagertown Senior Center, where she made quilts. She was a board member and secretary of the Mifflin County Board of Children and Youth for 35 years. Ruth was a mother and grandmother who supported her family and extended family in all types of activities with love, pride and attendance. Her daughter, Barbara, worked tirelessly to care for her Mom so she could pass at her home.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Yeagertown United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Thomas Morningstar officiating. Interment will be in Yeagertown Lutheran Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Heller- Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.
