William Theodore Butterfield, second son of the late Warren Alexander Butterfield and Maryette Loomis Butterfield was born in the town of Burke on May 11, 1871 and passed away at his home in the village of Token Creek at 12:30 on the morning of July 4, 1934 at the age of 63 years, 1 month, and 4 days. On Nov. 23, 1893 he was united in marriage with Alice Marion Bowers of the same place, who preceded him in death on Jun 25, 1930. To this union were born one son, Harvey, who passed away on Jan. 2, 1919 at the age of 2 years; and five daughters, Mrs. Arthur Westby of Edgerton, Mrs. Henry Hron of Madison, Mrs. Alfred Christianson of Milwaukee, Mrs. Louis Westby of Madison, and Mrs. Severt Christianson, who has taken care of her father since his wife passed away. There are also 11 grandchildren; and one brother, Melvin A. Butterfield of Endeavor, Marquette Co. Mr. Butterfield spent his whole life in this vicinity. He has been an invalid for several years and although his family are saddened at his passing, they feel that "their loss is his gain." Funeral services were held from the home at Token Creek on Friday afternoon, the Rev. L. F. Spangenberg, pastor of the Congregational Church at Windsor officiating. Interment was at Windsor Cemetery.
