American Revolutionary Soldier. He enlisted as a private in Visscher's Regiment of Tryon County Militia. He then joined the Army of Horatio Gates and fought in both Battles of Saratoga on September 19 and October 7, 1777. He then witnessed the surrendering of General Burgoyne and his troops on October 17, 1777. He later resigned his commission as a First Lieutentant in Colonel Livingston's Regiment on January of 1779. He then again enlisted as a sergeant in Captain Fonda's Regiment during the raids of Tribes Hill, Fonda and Johnstown by Colonel Sir John Johnson with 500 indians and Loyalists. He then enlisted as a Lieutentant in Captain Demuth's Company in Colonel Dubois Regiment of New York State Levies. His company was then ordered by General Van Resselaer to pursue and attack Colonel Johnson and his 500 indians for burning and killing in the Mohawk Valley. He was at the Battle of Klock's Farm and Failing Flats which lasted through the night for which the enemy retreated back to Canada. He was then discharged on January 1, 1781. He then again inlisted in Captain Fonda's Company in the spring of 1781. He was then under the command of Major Rowley who with 150 men lead a fierce battle at Fort Johnson againt Colonel Willett which resulted in a victory. He was wounded with Major Rowley, and after the battle their wounds were treated. Wallace served until the end of the war in Colonel Visscher's Regiment.
