Louis Lehr, 84, Lodi, passed away April 22 in a local convalescent hospital following an extended illness. He was a native of Kassel, Russia, and came to this country in 1902, settling in Medina, ND, where he farmed for 36 years before coming to Lodi in 1957. He and his wife, the former Anna R. Mueller, were married in 1920 and on March 6 of this year celebrated their both wedding anniversary. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Mildred, who passed away 15 years ago. He served in the U.S. Army under General Pershing during World War I. He is survived by his wife, Anna R. Lehr of Lodi; five daughters, Mrs. Ruth Bitz and Mrs. JoAnn Lowrie, both of Lodi, Mrs. Hilda Donat of Medina, ND, Mrs. Esther Penson of Tacoma, WA, and Mrs. Louise Strehle of Wessington Springs, SD; three sons, Albert Lehr of Tacoma, WA, Walter Lehr of Lodi and Oscar Lehr of Abilene, TX; his brother, August Lehr of Wishek, ND; 31 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Funeral services by Gierhart and Wells with interment in Cherokee Memorial Park, Pastor Herbert Schaal of Ebenezer Congregational Church officiating.

Their children: Martha Ruth, Mrs. Longines Bitz (1921-1999), Hilda, Mrs. Marvin Donat (1923-2011), Esther, Mrs. Gordon Penson (1924-2008), Louise, Mrs. Eddie Strehle (1925-) Albert W. Lehr (1927-1998), Mildred Mae, Mrs. Glidewell (1929-1965), Walter V. Lehr (1931-1993), Oscar R. Lehr (1934-2002) and JoAnn, Mrs. Lee Lowrie (1938-).
