Funeral Rites for Bucktown Woman To Be Wednesday.
Mrs. Rhoda E Carrico, 79 years old, lifelong resident of Sullivan county, passed away at 4:30 o'clock Monday afternoon in her home in the Bucktown community. She had been seriously ill for a week. Mrs. Carrico was born in Sullivan County on April 15, 1861, the daughter of Samuel and Lavina Knapp Mounts. She was 79 years, three months and 27 days of age at the time of her death. Mrs. Carrico was a member of the Bethany Church. Her husband James Carrico, preceded her in death in April, 1940. She is survived by one daughter Mrs Nancy Stuller, at home, and three grandchildren, James, Rhoda, and Fleeta Stuller at home. A brother Thomas Mounts of Carlisle rural route also survives. The body of the deceased was taken to the Newkirk Funeral home in Pleasantville and will be returned to the family residence this evening. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Bethany Church and burial will be made in the Bethany cemetery.
Although obit says born in Sullivan County, Sam married Lavina in 1860 in Owen County and didn't leave Owen County til after the Civil War. She married James Carrico 23 May 1886 had two children Minnice T Carrico and Nancy Lovina Carrico Stuller. When Milton Stuller died in 1928 Nancy and family moved in with James and Rhoda. Sullivan Co Welfare Dept sold their property in 1940 when they died.
