Mrs. Joan Presley Brown, 63, of Jonesboro, died March 23, 2009 at the UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL.

Mrs. Brown was born February 21, 1946 to the late William Oliver Presley and Lillie Lankford Presley in Putnam County, GA. In 1964, she graduated from Jonesboro Senior High School in Jonesboro, Georgia. In 2005, she retired after 31 years of public service to the Clayton County Finance Department and was the past President of TOPS Chapter in Fayetteville, GA. She also enjoyed collecting Fenton glass and was a charter member of the Georgia Glass Hoppers.

She is survived by her husband, Charlie Brown; son, Joe Norris and his wife Angie of Hampton; grandsons, Josh Norris and Noah Norris of Hampton; brother, Steve Presley and his wife Barbara of Senoia; sister, Sue Franklin and her husband Jim of Jonesboro; nieces and nephews, Darrell and Wendy Henderson of Senoia, Sharri Henson of Jonesboro and David and Christy Presley of Milner; and cousin and friend, Patsy Wooten of Fayetteville.

A funeral service will be held at 9:00 AM on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the Fayetteville chapel of Carl J. Mowell and Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 12:00 Noon at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Eatonton, GA. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the funeral home.
