As announced in the obituary column of The Sun yesterday, Mr. James Ijams died suddenly on Monday afternoon, at his residence, No. 673 Lexington street, in the 55th year of his age. He had been in delicate health for some time, and under the care of physicians, but he was not considered dangerously ill until within a few minutes before his death.
While in the act of taking a bath he was seized with sudden illness, and died in a few minutes. Dr. Mackall, coroner, was notified, but deemed the holding of an inquest unnecessary. Deceased, who leaves a wife and family, was well known in the western section of the city, and highly respected by numerous friends.
