Dr. Matthew W. Allen, 91, of Memphis, retired dentist after 40 years, died of heart failure Monday, April 24, at Hillhaven Rehabilitation Center in Fort Myers, FL.
Burial in Memorial Park.
He was a graduate of University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 1929, and a member of the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, Memphis Dental Society, Lewis & Peabody Senior Citizens Center, Expert Ballroom Dancers and Lindenwood Christian Church.
Dr. Allen, the widower of Lorenza Dow Allen, leaves a son, Dr. Matthew W. Allen II of Fort Myers, FL, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
