Russell Clinton Schoolcraft, 92 years of age, of Pulaski County, Kentucky, departed this life at his residence on Saturday, February 18th, 2012.
Clinton was born on September 27th, 1919, son of the late Ira Schoolcraft and Sallie Tarter Schoolcraft. Russell was a World War II veteran and fought in the South Pacific. He was a soft spoken Christian man who loved the Lord and spending time with family and friends.
Clinton was survived by one son, Eddie Schoolcraft; one son-in-law, Jim Brooks; three grandchildren, Tonya (and Anthony) Venable, Brad (and Sabrina) Schoolcraft, and Susi (and Robert) Lawson; seven great grandchildren, Allie Venable, Braden Venable, Mary Schoolcraft, Molly Schoolcraft, Aimee' Flynn, April Nortis, and Stephen Flynn; six great-great grandchildren, Chelsey Flynn, Gabriel Spradlin, Kailan Flynn, Makayla Noritis, Steven Flynn, and Madison Flynn; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Schoolcraft, who departed this life on September 19th, 1948 and Sallie Schoolcraft, who departed this life on May 22nd, 1988; his first wife and mother of his children, Kathleen Garner Schoolcraft, who departed this life on July 5th, 1962; his second wife, Aline Schoolcraft, who departed this life on January 15th, 2008; one daughter, Elizabeth Brooks; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Schoolcraft; one grandson, Rusty Brooks; and two sisters, Kathleen Harris and Irene Flynn.
Visitations were held at the Pulaski Funeral Home on Tuesday morning, February 21st, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until time for funeral services.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21st, 2012 in the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home. Military honors were conducted by the American Legion Post No#38.
Burial followed in the Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Somerset, Kentucky.
