William Lawrence Abernathy, 90, of Casey, formerly of Martinsville, died at 4:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 2, 1998 at his home in Casey.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 4 at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Martinsville, with the Rev. Richard Willis officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville.
He was born September 17, 1907 in Jonesboro, the son of William and Lula (Sides) Abernathy. He married Sue Sweatland and she survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Patsie Reed of Martinsville; three grandchildren, Bradley Reed and wife Becky, Brady Reed and wife Linda and Holly and Darrell j Skellem; six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
