BYRD, A. GORDON - age 76 of Knoxville passed away Thursday February 16, 2012. He was a proud U.S. Marine Veteran of the Korean War. Retired from Kelso Oil Company. He was a 32 degree mason and a shriner for over 50 years, he was also a member of the Shekina Lodge 524 F&AM. Preceded in death by wife Sandra Armstrong Byrd. Survived by three daughters Tonja Byrd, Carla Byrd Trotter, and Olivia Byrd, five grandchildren Alicia and husband Marshall Newhouse, Christy and husband Rocky Durham, Amanda Lewis Hollenbach, Matthew
and Andrew Trotter and Fiancé Christy Thompson, seven great grandchildren Austin, Blake, Haley, Lyla, Savannah, Cole, and Dalton Lee. The family would like to express a special thanks to family and friends for their loving support and prayers. Funeral Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Dr. Jerry Taylor officiating. Family and friends will leave Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Monday and proceed to Asbury Cemetery for Graveside Services at 2:30 p.m. with full military honors conducted by the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Matthew and Andrew Trotter, Marshall Newhouse, Rocky Durham, Austin Cook, and Robert Armstrong. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Disabled American Veterans 2600 Holbrook Drive Knoxville, Tn. 37918. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel
