PIONEER LADY PASSES TO HER REWARD

MRS. LOUISA BOHL, 74, a native of Medina County, and widow of the late Eugene Leo Bohl (long time resident and business man of Devine and Medina County), passed quietly away Saturday night, May 23d, at the home of her eldest son. She was born in Castroville and came of one of our oldest and most respected families. She is survived by her sons, Alfred P., Edwin, Leo, Alex, and Eugene, all of this community, and one daughter, Mrs. Mary Bohl FitzSimon of Castroville. She is also survived by four brothers, Peter Jungmann and Seraphin Jungmann, both of Hondo; Fred Jungmann of Rio Medina, and Alex Jungmann of LaCoste; one sister, Mrs. Annie Sauter of San Antonio.

The funeral was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church early Monday. Rev. Lambert Schiel conducted the sad obsequies. Many visitors came from different parts of Medina and Frio Counties and from San Antonio. The pall bearers were grandsons and nephews: George Bohl, Leo Bohl, Jr., Edwin Bohl, Jr., Fred Jungmann, Burnett Jungmann and Leonard Sauter. Internment was made in St. Joseph Cemetery and the grave was covered with beautiful flowers.

Deceased was buried on the Centennial Anniversary of her father, Peter Jungmann, Sr. Her mother was former Miss Mary Ann Meyer. Her father came from Germany and her mother came from France when quite young.

MRS. LOUISA BOHL (nee Jungmann) aged 74 years, 3 months and 17 days, died at the home of her son, Alfred, below Devine, Saturday evening, May 23, 1936, at 7:20 o'clock.

Mrs. Bohl was born in Castroville on February 6, 1862, and grew to womanhood there. She was happily married on September 25, 1883, to Eugene L. Bohl, who preceded her in death on February 16, 1927. She is survived by five sons: Alfred, Edwin, Leo, Alex and Eugene Bohl, all of Devine; one daughter, Mrs. Bernard FitzSimon of Castroville; 18 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Joe Sauter, of South San Antonio; four brothers: Pete and S.A. Jungman of Hondo, Fred Jungman of Rio Medina, and Alex Jungman of LaCoste.

The corpse was brought to Devine Monday morning, May 25, 1936, and rested in the St. Joseph Hall until 9:30 o'clock, the hour set for the funeral, where it was viewed by hundreds who knew her living. At 9:30 the corpse was carried to St. Joseph's Church, where after a Mass of Requiem offered by Rev. Lambert Schiel for the repose of her soul, was tenderly laid to rest in the St. Joseph cemetery, where she now rests in peace from her earthly labors and cares to arise on Judgment Day. Rev. Schiel performed the last sad rites. A large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends followed the remains to its last resting place.

To the heart-broken and bereft children, brothers and sister we extend our sincerest condolence in this their hour of sorrow. May a good Heavenly Father who doeth all for the best comfort them all in their great bereavement. May she rest in peace.
