Great Bend -- Alexander C. Herrman, 70, of Great Bend, died Saturday evening at the Central Kansas Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

He was born June 10, 1900 at Liebenthal.

Feb. 23, 1925 he married Katie Munsch at Liebenthal.

A retired laborer, he was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Herrman is survived by the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Florine) Burgardt, Great Bend; two brothers, Reinhold, Antonino, Arnold, Warner, Ga. Also surviving are seven sisters, Mrs. Joe Schaefer and Mrs. Pete Suppes, both of La Crosse, Mrs. Adam Suppes, Loretto, Mrs. Wendelin Rohr, Ness City, Mrs. John Bollig, Chanute, Mrs. Jake Bollig, Leibenthal, Mrs. Felix Schumacher, Hays; a grandson.

A rosary will be read at 8 p.m. today at the Cook and Weber Funeral Home, Great Bend. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rose Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Golden Belt Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until service time.
