James McKendree Ware, 78, and a native of the Ware's Chapel community, died suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G. O. Traylor here Sunday morning Oct 30, 1923. He came here several days prior to visit with his daughter and family and was apparently in as good health as he has been for some time. He has been feeble for a number of months but was seemingly no worse than he had been. When he was stricken Sunday morning he passed away before medical aid coud be secured.

The remains were buried at the Ware's Chapel Cemetery Monday morning, a large number of friends and relatives attending the funeral paying the last tribute of respect to the citizen that had spent his entire life in that community. Deceased lived in the house that he was born in all his life with the exception of two years. Recently he sold his property and secured the money for all his earthly possessions and knowing his health conditions were such that he would not live long, had wound up all his business affairs, leaving his estate in money only it is stated.

Nine Children survive him, all except one residing in this section of the state. He married first Mary Catherine Teague Daughter of Elijah Pope and Elizabeth Sharp Teague. Children: Alice, Joseph, Baby ware, Submittie, Mary Jane, Nancy Jane, Mack Mckenzie, Clemontine and George Obe. He married second Josephine Cummings Daughter of David H. and Celia Franks Cummings and had Cliffie, Julia Ray and Lydia.
