Gladys V. Goeken, 83, of the Hallmark House Nursing Home, Pekin, formerly of Delavan, died at 1:15 p.m. yesterday (May 18, 1985) at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. She had lived at the home for three years. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Woolsey Funeral Home in Delavan, the Rev. James R. Poe officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery, Delavan. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Goeken was born March 15, 1902, at Galesburg, a daughter of Charles E. and Agnes Jane Seward Selk. She married Harry Goeken July 24, 1920, at Burlington, Iowa. He died July 16, 1981.
She is survived by two sons, H. Harlan, Orlando, and Arthur, Delavan; three daughters, Leta Lorenz, Chicago; Shirley Grimes, Salisbury, N.C.; and Charlotte Evans, Delavan; a sister, Annetta Rademaker, Delavan; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers, and two sisters. Mrs. Goeken was a member of the Delavan United Methodist Church.
Memorials may be made to the Delavan Ambulance Fund.
