Viola Mae Tallacksen moved to California with her parents and siblings and they settled in the central valley area.

Viola met and married William "Bill" Hall in California. They had their own company and made their home in Visalia, Tulare County, California.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Visalia and devoted to her faith.

She died after husband Bill and they had no children. Bill is also buried at the Visalia Cemetery.

Viola was an accomplished organist and before her family moved to California she played at the Saturday matinees - silent movies. She said she so enjoyed this position and while she only worked on Saturdays it helped out her family with extra money.

She shared many stories about the "Great Depression" and how her family thought they had made it to the promise land with all the fruit hanging off the trees in the central valley of California.

I miss my dear friend that could make those ivory keys sing so sweet and our cups of hot tea. God Bless~ Betty Jean Wolverton-George
