Mr. Arthur Cooper, one of our most popular young attorneys, was married on the 6th inst. at Nashville, Tenn. to Miss Annie Gense and will be tendered a reception upon his return with his charming bride, by the young gentleman of this city.

1862 - 1900

Dead:
Hon. A. H. Cooper died at 2 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 1900 after several days sickness from Typhoid fever.
Arthur Henderson cooper was born in Harrison County, March 12, 1862. He was educated in Marshall University and Sam Houston Normal, and graduated from the law department Lebanon (Tenn.) University, in the class of 1883. Married December 6, 1867, at Springfield, Tenn. to Miss Evelyn V. Davis, from which union three children were born, only one of which survives.
Deceased filled the office of County Judge for two terms 1892-96 and it is said by lawyers that he possessed one of the brightest minds of any lawyer in East Texas. He was kind, gentle, forgiving, and never spoke ill of his fellowman. His death was a grief to his many friends and they and the community feel the deepest sympathy for those to whom he was nearest and dearest, and upon whom the loss falls heaviest.
The funeral was from the residence to Greenwood Cemetery at 4 O'clock this afternoon, and conducted by the Woodsmen, of which order he was a member.

THE WILL OF ARTHUR HENDERSON COOPER, dated December 4, 1891 was filed in Harrison Coty, Texas on December 8, 1900, and is recorded in the Probate minutes of Book "L", pages 229-230, and the inventory of the estate is in the same book on pages 294 and 295. Th will states that if he died "without children" everything is to go to my wife, Eva D. Cooper" and she was to be the executrix. It was attested that Robert Henderson Cooper died on November 23, 1900 , and that he is survived by widow, Eva, and one male child, Douglas, who is now 7 years of age. That he owned Lot 4, Bock 7, original survey of the Town of Marshall, Texas. Correspondence and signatures of 1913 show that Eva D. cooper and son, Douglas Cooper are residents of Dallas, Dallas Co., Texas.
