Roy Choate Jr. was born July 18, 1929, in Baron, Oklahoma to Roy Samuel Choate and Margaret (Wilkie) Choate. He departed this life February 16, 2012, in Springdale, Arkansas at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 28 days. On March 27, 1954, Roy married Kathleen Akins in Westville, Oklahoma. Upon her passing, Roy later married Claudine Stowe on December 17, 1976, in Westville, Oklahoma, where they made their home to the present. Roy was a farmer and enjoyed raising longhorn cattle, chickens and planting flowers. He was a member of Faith Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Kathleen Choate, one brother, Robert Choate, three sisters, Juanita Thomas, Virginia Small and Joyce McReynolds, and one grandson, Kolton Camp. He leaves behind a loving family which includes, his wife, Claudine Choate, of the home; two sons, Donnie Camp, of Westville and Greg Camp, of Claremore; two daughters, Karen Stovall and husband, Brad, of Paris, AR, Sherry Baggs and husband, Kendall, of Westville; one brother, Darrell Choate and wife, Pat, of Westville, five grandsons and three granddaughters. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2012, at Faith Holiness Church with Bro. Bill Wakley and Bro. Jeff Wilcher officiating. Interment will follow at Westville City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
