Arthur Gibson, son of W. R.
Gibson and wife, came home for his vacation on Sunday, May 19. On
Friday he was taken seriously ill and was taken to St. Johns hospital, Leavenworth Saturday night, and passed away Monday morning. He leaves his two motherless children, Billy and Helen, his parents and six brothers and 3 sisters, Paul and Frank being in France. On June 10, of last year Harvey, the youngest son, passed away--the first break in this large family. Surely those people feel their cup of sorrow is full. Funeral at the Christian church, interment at Wise cemetery.
The funeral of Oliver Arthur Gibson, who died at St. John's hospital at Leavenworth, May the 27, was held at the Christian church last Wednesday afternoon, at 2 p.m., services conducted by Rev. W. T. Swain. Burial was made in the Wise cemetery. Mr. Gibson, who had come up from Kansas City to spend his two weeks vacation with his parents and his two children, was taken sick while here and was taken to the hospital at Leavenworth a few days before his death, which was caused from peritonitis. He had been in the employ of the U. P. at Kansas City the past ten years.
