GIRL SEVERELY BURNED BY EXPLOSION IN LELAND GLASS HOME THURSDAY MORNING

Miss Evelyn Fowler, 18, is in Sweetwater Sanitarium suffering severe burns about the face, back and legs, as the result of an explosion Thursday morning in the home of Mrs. and Mrs. Leland Glass, 111 Hailey, which is said to have probably been caused from a leaking gas pipe.
Her burns, though severe, are no of a critical nature, and unless complications set in she will recover.
Miss - Fowler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Fowler was employed in the Glass home and was in the bathroom when the explosion occurred. She never lost consciousness, but was thrown to the floor by the blast and was unable to get out of the room.
Two workmen at the Sweetwater Hospital, nearby, heard the explosion and rushed to the house and rescued her and the ear old son of Mr. and Mrs. Glass, who was, in his crib in the back room. The rescue without a doubt saved the lives of the two.
The blast and resulting flames entirely destroyed the house and its contents.
Mrs. Glass and daughter, Barbara had left the house just a few minutes before to visit a neighbor.
Mrs. A. Glenn, who lives nearby, turned in the fire alarm when she heard the blast and saw the flames leaping through the windows.
Miss Fowler was in the bathroom, where the explosion occurred and her rescuers had to break the door in to rescue her. The baby was carried to saftey first. She was rushed to the sanitarium in a Doran-Yates ambulance.
