David Watts is the son of Samuel Watts III and Alice Elsie Bean. David served in Lieut. Whitney's Company in the Revolutionary War. David married Abigail (Noyes) Tupper on March 3, 1796 at Jonesboro, Maine. David and Abigail had nine children; Samuel Watts II (1797-1880), Joseph Tupper Watts (1799-1896), Ruth Moors Watts Hall (1802-1840+), Abigail Watts Wakefield (1804-1856), Mary Thompson Watts Farnsworth (1807-1899), David Watts Jr (1808- ), Joanna Watts Patten (1810-1880+), Elizabeth Watts Randall (1814-1850+) and Thomas Dustan Watts II (1816-1890).
