James Robert Linn Sr., 74, of 133 N. Second St., Catawissa, died at 1:55 pm Tuesday, Feb. 28, 1995, at the Bloomsburg Hospital, where he had been a patient since Jan. 31.
A lifelong Catawissa resident, he was born Aug. 1, 1920, a son of the late Joseph and Edna Brobst Linn. He graduated from the former Catawissa High School in 1941.
Mr. Linn served with the 56th Troop Carrier Squadron as a sergeant in the Army Air Force in the Pacific theater during World War II. He was a member of the Retirees group of TRW and a 50-year member of the Catawissa American Legion. A brother, Francis J. Linn, died Feb. 21, 1983.
Surviving are his wife, the former Aldona Shepenas, formerly of Zion Grove, to whom he was married for 42 years; three children: James R. Linn Jr., Acworth, Ga.; Todd Linn, Lafayette Hill, and Mrs. Brian (Karen) Parks, West Chester; and one grandson.
Also surviving are three sisters, Donna Jean Linn and Lois Linn, both of Catawissa and Martha Diebler, Trevorton; and three brothers: Ronald Linn, Bloomsburg and Clifford and Harold Linn both of Catawissa. Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Harold A. Wulfert Funeral Home, Catawissa, with the Rev. Kenneth R. Elkin, his pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Catawissa.
