Mrs. Elliott was born a daughter of Cassie Preston Hill Sr. and Hazel Hartley Shuler Hill on August 9, 1944, in Georgetown.
She was a seamstress with both Shamrock and Oneita Industries prior to operating Miss Judy's Day Care for many years.
She was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was known for her excellent cooking and baking.
Judy and Jimmy were married on October 1, 1960, and celebrated 51 years together.
From their blessed union survives two daughters, Faye E. (Harry) Johnson and Elaine E. (Dean) Howard; one son, Carl M. Elliott; and two granddaughters, Julia A. (Steven McClure) Johnson and Jessica Johnson.
She also leaves behind three brothers, Marshal O'Neil (Betty) Shuler, Cassie P. (Sandy) Hill, Jr., and Charles A. Hill; two sisters, Mary Ida Cribb and Minnie Kay (Dwane) Bone.
She was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Julie Ann Elliott; a sister, Doris H. Moore; and one brother, Joe E. Hill.
A Home Going Celebration was held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2012, at the Georgetown Church of God.
Interment was in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens, directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at the Georgetown Chapel.
