Dora B. (Guidotti) Carney, 95, of Allenport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, in Adult Assisted Living, Dunlevy. She was born Aug. 31, 1913, in Vesta, a daughter of the late Amos and Agnes (Bizarri) Guidotti. Mrs. Carney was a member of the United Methodist Women and the United Methodist Church of Allenport for 48 years, the Allenport Ladies Auxiliary, the Charleroi Golden Agers, Charleroi AARP, the 55 Alive Travel Club and a volunteer for the Mon Valley Hospital Auxiliary and Five Town Ambulance. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Agnes and Albert Pipik, and one grandson, Bret Pipik (Sherry), all of Allenport; one granddaughter, Diane Wilder (James), of Florida; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas (Amanda) Uher, Michael Uher, Joshua Pipik and Albert Pipik; and two great-great-grandchildren, Julian and Jayden Uher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerard James Carney, on Aug. 1, 1986; two brothers, Pete and Dino Guidotti; and two sisters, Pearl Coppi and Frances Chaveret. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the MELENYZER-DuBARR FUNERAL HOMES and CREMATION SERVICE, Roscoe (724-938-9323), where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ernest F. DeLuca of the Greater Purpose Ministry officiating. Interment will follow in Howe Cemetery, Coal Center.
