Yearl Elmer Arnold, 86, of Romney, W.Va., died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2005, at home.

Mr. Arnold was born July 28, 1918, in Covington, the son of Charles Elmer and Margaret Elmira (Crowe) Arnold.

Mr. Arnold retired after working as a teacher for blind students at the West Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind in Romney.

He was a veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the Romney Christian Church.

He was married to Iva Blanche Vought Arnold.

Surviving with his wife are two sons, William R. Arnold of Romney and Thomas N. Arnold of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; a brother, Paul E. Arnold of Russell, Ky.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Three sisters, Thelma Arnold, Stella E. Thawley, and Leota Wilson, are deceased.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shaffer-Warnick Funeral Home, Romney, with Pastor DeWitt Clinton officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
