Mrs. Hilda A. Grossheim, 93, of the Town of Rhine, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 16, 1993, at the Calumet Homestead in New Holstein, where she had been a resident the past three and a half years.
She was born Oct. 29, 1899 in the Town of Rhine, a daughter of the late William and Katherine Schwartz Kraemer. She attended the Lime Kiln grade school in the Town of Rhine.
On Oct 9, 1920, she was married to Walter Grossheim at Zion Lutheran Church in Glenbeulah. The couple farmed in the Town of Greenbush until 1923, when they purchased a farm in the Town of Rhine, which they operated until retiring. Her husband preceded her in death Dec 15, 1969.
She is a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in the Town of Rhine and was a member of its Ladies Aid Society.
Survivors include one son, LeRoy (Priscilla) Grossheim, Plymouth; one daughter, Mrs. Arleen (Norman) Reichardt, Kiel; 14 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Arthur (Verna) Kraemer, Town of Mosel. She was preceded in death by one son, Raymond; three sisters, Meta, Elsie and Lydia, and two brothers, Edwin and Arno.
Funeral services will be held Thu, Mar 18, at 7 pm at the Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth in Rev. Leon Momaney, pastor of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in the Greenbush Cemetery. (Sheboygan Press-Wed, Mar 17, 1993)
