Alwin R. Goelzer, 84, Prominent Glenbeulah resident and former village supervisor on the Sheboygan County Board, die at his home there today. He had been in failing health for several years.

Mr Goelzer , known as "Dick" had represented the village for the county's governing body for 10 years from 1947 until his retirement in the spring of 1957. On the board he had served on former highway accounts, court claims, nurse and probation affairs and County Marsh committees.
A native of the Town of Plymouth, he was born Oct 29, 1878, a son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Christian Goelzer.
He attended the former Valley House district school, spent his early years in the Plymouth-Glenbeulah area, and as a young man homesteaded for nine years on a Ne Mexico Ranch. After traveling throughout other western areas, he returned to Wisconsin, settling in Milwaukee where he was affiliated with the J. J. Jones Millwork and Hardware Co.

He married Miss Anna Titel of Glenbeulah on June 12, 1928, and upon the death of his wife in 1945, returned from Milwaukee to retirement in Glenbeulah.
In addition to his duties as village supervisor, Mrs. Goelzer was an active churchman, serving on the board of Glenbeulah Methodist Church for many years. At the time of death he eas president of the Greenbush Cemetery Association and belonged to the Odd Fellows Lodge.

Surviving are a brother, Dr. C. G. Goelzer, a Plymouth dentist and his sister-in-law Mrs. Charles Goelzer with whom he shared his home.
Five brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
