Mr. Blackwell, a retired employee of Milledgeville State Hospital, died Tuesday at his home after a sudden illness. A native of Jasper County, he had lived most of his life in Baldwin County and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. E. M. Ennis of Hardwick, Mrs. Ila Harrington of Milledgeville; four sons, Thomas Blackwell, Arthur N. Blackwell, Jr., James L. Blackwell, and Max Blackwell, all of Milledgeville; three brothers, Walker M. Blackwell of Milledgeville, Quinn Blackwell of Monticello, and S.H. Blackwell of Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Blackwell of Monticello and Emmie Brodeur of Augusta. There are 17 grandchildren.
