George was the twin brother of Charles W N Green, FAG memorial #149394390.
See them in the 1850 and 1860 censuses, living in Burnett, Dodge County WI.
In the 1860 census, they are listed by their sister Juliette's married name, Dailey.

Death came Wednesday evening to George W. Green, 87, former railroad man and civil war veteran, who worked on the construction train that was used when the old Lake Shore road was built to Ashland, a part of the Chicago & Northwestern railway system. He died of general debility about 9:30 o'clock last evening at St. Mary's hospital where he lived for the last two years.

Mr. Green was born April 11, 1845, in Vermont. He served in the union army during the civil war and among the battles in which he saw action was the fighting on Champion Hills at Vicksburg in 1863. He also was on Sherman's "march to the sea."

SERVED AS ENGINEER He had come to Wisconsin with his parents to settle on a farm In Dodge county, and after the civil war moved to Oshkosh. For 30 years he was an engineer for the Chicago & Northwestern railway, and for almost the same number of years he was retired. He lived continuously in Oshkosh the last 15 years.

Survivors are two sons, William J. Green, of Chicago, and Dr. George N. Green, Oshkosh dentist. There are three grandchildren. One son, Frank T. Green, passed away at Chicago last Dec. 10.

Mr. Green was a member of Oshkosh lodge, No. 27, of the Masonic order.

The funeral Is to be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the Konrad funeral home, with Masonic services. The body will He in state after Friday noon at the -Konrad funeral home, 103 Waugoo street.
