Major never owned a car. He was known to walk or catch a ride everywhere. He took pride in maintaining this cemetery with nothing but a hoe. His brother, Homer Dillard's son, Steve who is still living gives this information and has taken care of the cemetery since Major died in 1965.While not a highly educated man, Major was known to write wonderful letters and poetry.He wrote a beautiful tribute/ obituary for his sister when she died.
