Died at his home in Marble Hill. He had a stroke of paralysis a month before his death. Married Flora Ann Williford Oct. 27, 1895 in Bollinger County.

Former Bollinger County prosecuting attorney. For six terms he served as Bollinger County prosecuting attorney, and also was superintendent of the county schools. For a number of years he taught school, and for a long time, too, engaged in law practice.

He was for 45 years a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge, and for 68 years held membership in the Masonic Lodge. A Republican, he was active in political affairs.

Survived by his wife; daughters, Mrs. Reta Crenshaw and Mrs. Leonard Brown; and two grandsons.
