Alvin F. Gesche, 65, Route 5, died Monday at his home. He was born and raised in the town of Weston. He married Verna Neubauer July 25, 1942, in Menomonie. He farmed most of his life in the towns of Menomonie and Weston. Al died of a massive heart attack, he was playing horseshoe.
He served on the Fair view school board and was Weston Town Board Chairman for about eight years. He also served on the Dunn County Board and the Farmers Home Administration Committee.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sandra Metzger, Elmwood. Virginia Wolske, Menomonie; two sisters, Margaret Klatt, Downing. June Strand, Menomonie; and four grand children.
This in no way even touches what this man meant to the community and the people and the kids that loved him dearly. Al was like a father to any kid that ever came to their home.
