BRANDENBURG Loretta Florence Aunt Tootsie , age 72 of Newport, Kentucky, March 27, 1933-May 14, 2005, gave up her courageous battle with cancer at St. Luke East on Saturday, May 14, 2005. Born March 27, 1933 in Hamilton, OH. She attended Mt. Healthy High School. On March 5, 1949 she united in marriage to Amos Brandenburg Jr. With love and dedication, they raised 12 kids, 10 girls and two boys. She was a dedicated seamstress for Atlas Dry Cleaners for ten years. The next 14 years her occupation included being a fabric/material inspector for Palm Beach Company. After retirement, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, going to bingo, spoiling her two dogs Peaches and Princess, and shopping. Her altruistic nature helped her befriend everyone she came into contact with. Friends recall how Loretta always bragged about her girls and her Stevie. She is survived by her loving husband, Amos Brandenburg, son Stev Brandenburg of Newport, daughters, Debbie Bischoff of Alexandria, Sandy Brandenburg of Burlington; Janet Whalen of Burlington, Terry Brandenburg of Newport, Kim Guffey of Newport, Cathy Cooper of Newport, Julie Roderick of Alexandria, Pam Walger of Burlington, Donna Kuntz of Union; Amy Brandenburg-Winstel of Bellevue, sister Dottie Inman of Western Hills; 21 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Her son, Billy Ray Brandenburg and sisters, Katie and Irene preceded Mrs. Brandenburg in death. Visitation services will be Wednesday, May 18 from 6-9 P.M. at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home in Newport, KY. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday with the procession following to Alexandria Cemetery.
