The daughter of Thomas John Donnelly and Nora Heffernan Donnelly, Dorothy A. Donnelly Heintz was born in 1902 in Madison County, New York. She was the seventh of seven children. On September 4, 1926 in Canastota, Madison County, New York, she married William Ferdinand Heintz, Sr., and they had four children: Mary Ellen Heintz Steward, William Ferdinand Heintz, Jr., Anne Heintz Reed, and Nancy Heintz. Dorothy died at about age 68 on January 8, 1970 and is buried near her husband at Saint Agatha Cemetery in Canastota, Madison County, New York.
