Funeral services for Sarah Young Olsen, 64, of 98 S. 3110 W., Provo, who died of a cerebral hemorrhage Wednesday, March 24, 1976, at the Utah Valley Hospital, will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel in Provo.
Friends may call at the mortuary tonight from 6 to 8 o'clock or Friday before services. Burial will be in Provo City Cemetery.
Mrs. Olsen was born Sept. 21, 1911, in Colonia Dublan, Mexico, to Howard and Alice Hawkins Young. She married Kenneth B. Olsen on June 6, 1934, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
After the death of her parents, she was reared by and uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Hawkins.
She received her education in Provo City Schools and attended Brigham Young University, from where she received a teaching certificate. She taught one year at the Maeser School in Provo.
Following her marriage, they lived in Provo, living in the Vineyard area for four years, then moved to West Provo where they continued farming.
Active in the LDS Church, she was a member of the Sunset First Ward at the time of her death. She had been a Primary teacher, YMMIA teacher, secretary in the Relief Society in both the ward and staken [sic], an active temple worker and genealogist.
Mr. and Mrs. Olsen had recently served an 18-month mission in Harrisburg, Pa.
Survivors include her husband; two sons and two daughters, Richard K. Olsen, Logan; Robert Y. Olsen, Baltimore; Mrs. Frank D. (Diane) Wall, Provo; Mrs. Douglas E. (Mary) Warner, Orem; 14 grandchildren, and one brother, Howard Young, Provo.
