Mrs. Mary E. Hillman died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Noel Tuttle in Pleasant Hill, Monday afternoon. She was stricken by paralysis a week ago and never rallied after the stroke. Mary E. Bower Hillman was born at Chillocothe, Ohio, July 11, 1855, had reached the age of 76 years, 10 months and 19 days. She came to Illinois locating in Pike county when eleven years of age. She was united in marriage to M. E. Hillman who preceded her in death on July 12, 1929. To this union six children were born, a daughter Mable, passed away in childhood.

The surviving children are: T. W. Hillman, East Hardin, Ill.; Mrs. Maude Barton, Galesburg, Ill.; Mrs. Minnie Tuttle, Scott and Irvin Hillman of Pleasant Hill. She also leaves 13 grand children and 5 great grand children; three brothers: D. E. Bower, Wm. Bower and A. P. Bower of Pleasant Hill and a sister Mrs. Maggie Craigmiles of Portand, Oregon.

Mary E. Hillman was a good woman, kind hearted and friendly to neighbors and friends and always ready to lend a helping hand when needed. She was a member of the Methodist church in Pleasant Hill.

The funeral was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Noel Tuttle Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock conducted by Milo E. Galloway and burial was in Crescent Heights cemetery, Pleasant Hill.
