Born in Jessup, Pennsylvania to Giacondo and Ciarina Perugini, he moved to the Buena area in the 1930's with his family. In 1949 he married his wife, Alice (Goffredi) and celebrated 55 years together prior to her passing in 2005.
He was a WWII veteran serving in the Pacific when the war ended, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He then worked in the local clothing industry and also many years as a cashier at the Atlantic City Race Track and Garden State Race Track. He was an active member of Padre Pio Parish and a member of their senior club.
He always had a smile for everyone, and everyone was his friend. He enjoyed playing pinochle, bird watching, fishing, watching the Phillies, visiting the casinos with his nephew and nieces, and most of all being with his family.
He was survived by his four daughters: Annette Day, Paula Doe and husband, Paul, Lynda Gilbert and husband, Larry, Maryann Perugini and husband Eric Demitroff; eight grandchildren: Harley Day (Buck) and wife Chrissy, Gina Day, Daniel DiGiovacchio and wife Misty, Mathew DiGiovacchio, Douglas Gilbert and wife Jamie, Kevin Gilbert, Charlotte Cecere, of Richland and John Cecere; four great-grandchildren: Daniel, Dominic and Gabriella DiGiovacchio, and Oscar "JJ" Day; three sisters-in-law: Emma Grieco, Marie Spinelli and Marge Goffredi; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
