William Milton James, 79, Tuscumbia, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Colbert Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Colbert Memorial Chapel, with burial in Colbert Memorial Gardens, with full military honors at graveside. Officiating at the funeral will be Brother Tom Whatley. He is survived by his wife, Della V. James, Tuscumbia, Ala.; sons, William J. James, Huntsville, Ala., Robert F. James, Muscle Shoals, Ala., Harry A. James, Sheffield, Ala.; brother, Austin James, Meridian, Miss.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Woodward Avenue Baptist Church, Muscle Shoals, Ala.He was the founder of James Carpet Contractors and retired from the Army as a major. Pallbearers will include military honor guard.Colbert Memorial Chapel is directing.
