Wilma Zelenick, 82, of California, Pa., died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003. She was born Nov. 3,1920, in Coal Center, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Lydia Haney Carney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Zelenick; and one grandson, Adam Michael Zelenick. She was a cafeteria worker for the California Area schools, an active member of the California Area Band Association; the CWF, and the Democratic Women's Club of California. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Rosalie Comer and husband Robert of Charleroi, James R. "Jumbo" Bayan of Allenport, and Grant L. Zelenick Sr. and wife Ethelyn of California; one brother, Kenneth Carney of Hiller; two sisters, Jean Orbash of Penn Craft and Ruth Billick of North Belle Vernon; eight grandchildren, John Harapko, Darla Seighman, Brice Smith, Kim Shipley, Kathy Welch, Brian Smith, Marie Miller and Grant Zelenick Jr.; and 14 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth St., California, Pa., on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, when services will be held with the Rev. Wesley Ward officiating. Interment will follow in Howe Cemetery.
