Adams, Charlotte V. "Nana" Age 90, a longtime resident of Hobart, and recently of Portage, passed away on Wednesday, February 08, 2012. She was born on October 27, 1921 in Valparaiso, the daughter of Vernon and Amanda Gustafson. Charlotte was married to Stephen "Jack" Adams on January 1, 1943 in Valparaiso and he proceeded on March 29, 1998. Charlotte was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Portage. She had been involved with the Hobart Canasta Club and she loved puzzles. Charlotte, who was affectionately known as "Nana", greatest joy was taking care of all of her family. Charlotte was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend to all. Charlotte is survived by her loving family; Vicki (Chuck) Mason, Portage, granddaughters Jenny Mason, Houston, Texas, and Julie (Tanner) Wilson, Indianapolis, great-grandchildren Aiden and Livi Wilson, sister Maxine Wittmer, Valparaiso, sister-in-law Laverne Gustafson, Valparaiso, and other loving family and dear friends. She also leaves behind her best buddy and loving puppy "Hank". She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack Adams, sisters Verna Henry, Sally Walck, Marian Sanz, and Tippy Scott, and brother Elwood Gustafson. A visitation for Charlotte Adams will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Rees Funeral Home Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 13, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church of Portage, 2637 McCool Road, Portage, with Reverend Dennis Ticen, officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso. Memorials in Charlotte's memory may be made to Macular Degeneration Research.
