Carl C. Hasenbank, 82, an Akron, Iowa, native and lifelong resident, died unexpectedly Monday March 12, 1990 at the Hawarden Hospital.

Funeral services were held on Thursday morning March 15, 1990, at Immanual Lutheran Church, the Reverend William Flemr officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery under the direction of the Shroeder Funeral Home of Akron.

Carl Hasenbank was born August 12, 1907 at Akron, the son Chris and Wiebke Scherner Hasenbank. He lived and farmed on the same farm his entire life. On July 21, 1933 he married Edna Ackerman at Akron.

Mr. Hasenbank was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lions Club and
Senior Citizens Group of Akron.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Viola (Mrs. Eldon) Gabel of Akron, and Caroline (Mrs. Robert) Gradert of rural Ireton; three sons, Wilbur of Westfield, Iowa; Vern of Vermillion, South Dakota, and Marvin of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; 23 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Art and John; a sister, Dora; and a grandson, Brian Hasenbank.
